    1. You can go into your blogger account and change that. I think these comments lets you associate it with your google account and use that info. Comment AS with a down arrow.

  3. Thanks for the advice, Fred. :) BTW...This new system is working great on my end as far as getting comment emails right away. Looks like the only draw back so far is so far, I can't reply via email like I could with the old system.

  4. But it does have a link in each email that takes me directly to this page. :)

    1. As you now see because you setup the feed reader, it brings you to the exact comment where you can reply. It's better than email if you ask me. One big way is that the feed reader shows it to you in order. Easy to move through the comments. Glad I was able to help you. 😁

  6. Yeah and I noticed that the clearest part of that video tut you made was when you were showing the RSS FEED. ;)

  7. Ok so when you have some developments on the prechorus, let's discuss it here rather than the old page.

    ReplyDelete
  8. No problem, bud. ;) I do have a melody that I think could work well for that part but waiting for your drum beat or since I have the right tempo set up in Sonar, I could just try to record it with the help of the metronome. ;)

  11. Maybe I am not clear on where to put the beat. This is for the bridge?

    ReplyDelete
  12. It's for the Pre-chorus.

I know, it's a little rough but I did it with the metronome so it should be close to lining up with the beat.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ok I will look at this tomorrow. It's late right now.😎

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ok, there is an alignment problem here Ed. I think I can adjust this without too much trouble. One thing I might point out here Ed, is that in order for the clicks on the front to be effective, those same clicks should be on both tracks we are lining up. There are none on the vocal track, so I cannot use that method of alignment. I have to go by ear. I do hear the bridge.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Let me get this aligned first, and then we will figure out the roots. That in turn should help us decide the chording. If this was the usual, these would have lined up just dropping them in together. Let me show you the mix they lined up with first.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think you have an extra measure on the front of the vocal. I should be able to adjust this pretty easily, but I want you to see what this sounds like aligned your way.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The music stops sooner than it should. It should play up to your intended bridge. "And hold onto me" should have music under it. Check this out. This link should look fine in your reader: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10ghSlz0F7goyMnXBvxCUm5gxLeWxKU6j/view?usp=sharing.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I tried shifting it a measure. That didn't work. So this is the intended mix I am to hear?

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can fix this I think, but it's not simple.

    ReplyDelete
  20. The links are clickable in email.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Thanks, Fred. :) It's getting there. ;)

Could you please post the vocals for that and a wav or mp3 of the music track and where you've made timing, I can hold out certain notes longer to make it smoother. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  22. I did a few more edits. It's the same link as last one I posted. I just overwrote it with tha new mix. It stays right on the measure where before it didn't/ I feel better about this mix. Right click and open in new tab ➡ LINKED FILE

  24. If it was put on time, I think you have a counter melody at the 1:00 "And for a moment I remember how it used to be."

    ReplyDelete
  25. I can't help but feel that could be put behind parts of your melody scale. A counter melody. Maybe wouldn't work but.....🙋🏼‍♂️

    ReplyDelete
  26. The drum rolls are in the wrong place, but at least we have an arrangement assemebled. I can redo parts.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I had to ignore the rolls being in the wrong place, and just assemble this. It flows. It would not be hard to replay the drums right. Then I can replace the other parts too.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You notice I gave you another time around on the wav mix. If you feel like adding more. We can work the arrangement.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Could this work, Fred? :)

    1. To me the prechorus sounds too short in this. It's different in the last mix I posted. It feels abrubt and needs to resole to my ear. Let me listen some more.

      Delete
    2. If you ask me this fits better Ed. It segways from the prechorud into the chorus MUCH better. It's a natural flow where yours feels abrubt. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1juRv-jDrmmA3DRT8DI_C2KO1nSvqih4-/view

  30. I like your idea for using the 2nd to last line again right before the chorus starts but I thought that might be better to have that change in melody before the final chorus.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ok, bud. :) You seem to feel pretty strongly about this so let's give it a try. ;)

  38. Yep, I noticed. ;)

This is my idea for the bridge, I used the part you deleted between the 2nd verse and chorus that we decided on. ;)

  41. Man that didn't seem easy for you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Send me your stem and I will put it in. I really need to hear this in context to have an opinion. There was one place you seemed to drop out.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Lol Well some days are easy and other days, not so much. Lol ;)

    ReplyDelete
  44. It actually felt a little hard to follow because of the drop out.

    Try this, Fred. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ummm the feedback will be the same as earlier Ed. There is a place where you seem to just drop out. Where do I find the lyrics you are singing on this bridge? As I listen I would have problems actually defining the melody in places. It's like you are stumbling at points. If this is supposed to give the vocalist the idea as to what to sing, in places it's not clear. In general I think this might work, except for the places it is not clear. If I had the lyrics you are singing I could be more specific. Oh BTW, I didn't delete anything. I called attention to YOU shifting some of the words from one part to another. I have never deleted anything from this project that I know of. I merely pointed out that YOU shifted some of the lyrics from prechorus to be part of the verse. I didn't do that, you did.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If I deleted something I don't remember it. Maybe we are talking about my editing the lyrics to reflect what you are actually singing? If that is what you refer to, then it was YOU who changed things, and I merely reflected what YOU changed. When I edited the lyrics, i was going by what I was hearing YOU sing. That would YOU who removed them. I just made the lyrics follow what you were singing.

    ReplyDelete
  49. If you had left them in what you were singing they would still be there. That's not ME removing them.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Lolol I admit it, it was my idea to remove them!!! Lol I was just talking about the left over music between the chorus and the 2nd verse, but it's Ok
Cuz seemed like you had the same music after the 2nd chorus so I used that for
    the bridge. :)

Ok here are the lyrics for the bridge, my guess is you're talking about that bend I attempted on the word, SAND.

I want to melt under the touch of your hand
Life's too small, like a grain of sand
    Dance through our dreams...mmm..
Get back to just you and me....
    You and me

    1. Ok I am taking a little break right now. When I come back to this I will be specific about what I am hearing. I suppose my reaction is because I was not even aware of what was removed, so when you spoke about what I deleted, I drew a blank. More soon. Thanks.

      Delete
  51. That's cool. I have a second guess....If you're talking about the vocals that had the least amount of volume, that would be Mmmm mmmm mmmm. Heehee :p

    ReplyDelete
  52. LOL Ok I will listen closer. Maybe just bring it up. I will try that.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good and if that doesn't do it, I can always send you that part without dropping much volume after I mix it down from stereo to mono.

  54. No problem, Fred. Have a good night. ;)

  55. Reviewing, and gathering bearings.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ummmm OK. :p Fred I really like the 1st 2 lines of melody for the bridge but if you hate it, I'll think of something else. ;) And of course, I don't mind thinking of another melody for the rest of it if that's what you want. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yes I am not thrilled by the whole thing. I think the test would be can a vocalist do what you demoed. It's not real tight, and indeed the mmmmmmm part feels like leaving the rest of that phrase hanging. The bottom line here is how a vocalist will deal with this. I am skeptical. Maybe you can ask Reba what she thinks. Maybe I will be surprised. I think I would be cutting all of this that is before the bridge out when showing it to her. That alone really kind of has me scratching my head. If I was trying to sing it I'd have a hard time following this idea. That is a very, very odd place to put "mmmmm".

    ReplyDelete
  58. And then I'd have to figure out WHERE to put that in my arrangement. It's not real clear from the demo. You have a huge space with nothing happening. Sorry just scratching my head about it.

    ReplyDelete
  59. No problem, Fred. ;) I think the huge space is where the 2nd verse and Pre-chorus would go. Sure, I don't mind asking Reba. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think that would be the way to go. A lot depends on how well she could follow what you've setup. I will speak to her about giving an opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ok, thanks. :) Perhaps I will make a Bridge excerpt and raise the mmm mmmm mmm. Lol ;

    ReplyDelete
  62. I am working on that very thing right now.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Way to stick to your guns Ed. She liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Now we need to get Mel onboard and discuss the idea of shortening things.

    ReplyDelete
  65. She is supposed to be notified by email of these comments, so let's get her in on this.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I have the bridge demo saved by itself. I can plug it in once we get that far with the re-work.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Let's just wait for Mel to join us in this discussion and we will figure out how to proceed.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sounds good. :) Do you still have the music track I rearranged and sent you the link to?

    ReplyDelete
  69. I sent her a PM to join us here Ed.We'll take it from there.

    ReplyDelete
  70. This is much better than trying to use FB. They like to block links we send each other. That chat worked great. You should register for that chat Ed. So your name shows. Like Reba did.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yeah what we have is more like 2 verses but the 2nd verse has a different melody than the first so I guess we can't really call it a verse.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Yes I have the stem and the arrangement too. I have not compared it to mine. It feels weird to me Ed, but maybe I am just not understanding. I am listening. It really might be more efficient to let Mel weigh in. Once we present her with the goal, she might give us an easy fix and we can proceed. If we get started and it does not fit with her we wasted time. Let's just wait a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ok will probably do that tomorrow

    ReplyDelete
  74. You could maybe get started in your head how to proceed, and once Mel oks it you can I can go about making it so. We'll get the bridge in there too.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Id I got a transcript of that chat so we know exactly what she said. I put it in the page below the comments. Here is the link. Look at the very bottom:

  78. So this demo ends after the first chorus? I ask because it immediately went to the first verse again. If that is the case, it works to my ear. Put that in the chat and let's see what the girls think.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I added the 1st verse again to fill the hole you mentioned before. I haven't recorded 2nd verse yet so I put the 1st verse in it's place and after that is the complete Pre-chorus that we had before, then the chorus, bridge and final chorus and ends with music. ;)
