So, before I could even think of keyboard parts (my instrument) I had to have a solid bass line. This mix is really full as it is. I am not sure what keyboard embellishments might be needed, but after thinking on this awhile, I thought that maybe some orchestral punctuation, perhaps violins doubling the bass line, up a third or something similar, just in a few places. Thinking "I Am The Walrus", especially somewhere during the swirly vocal montage toward the end. Again, great job so far guys. I hope to work with you in the future.
Ok I put Jay's bass audition into the second player for you to listen to Sam. Check the player. If you you don't see it, the link is just under the big red letters at the top of this comment section.
Oh wow. I thought Jay (Jayce?) wasn't able to do it, so John has already sent me a bass. I like what I heard, but I've already added John's bass to the mix. I'm really sorry Jay. I didn't know it you were still working on it. Still I'd like to hear your other ideas if you're willing.
All good Sam! When you have your mix with bass track, I'd like to play with it. I only added bass because there wasn't one and it's not a real bass anyway. It was fun!
Jay is a good keyboardist. Check his talent profile Sam. When I broadcast these invites it hits a lot of people. That is increasing all the time. Every time someone submits a talent profile they go into the database and get invites. I am slowly adding people and this is growing all the time. As time goes on and more people get added, more invites go out. It's like people have not really caught on, but I am driving them to come listen.
This is different Sam. I can give you edit rights, but you'll need to use an html editor. Upload a mix and send me the link and I will do the updating. I can give you edit rights, but it is different.
That old page is still there. I am happy to let you edit Sam. I just figured I did all the updating there, I'd do it here. Gimme a mix with John in and I'll update.
That's great! Almost there!
ReplyDeleteThis sure is a fun progression you wrote here Sam! I love it.
ReplyDeleteJohn wrote. I just added vocals/lyrics.
DeleteVocal (melody), and lyrics are what are copyrightable by law. Did he write those?
DeleteGreat song and I love your vocals. Very Grateful! I have an idea or two I'll share here.
ReplyDeleteSam is subscribed so he should see what you got to show.
DeleteHiya Jay!

Jay this works even if it doesn't show the link. We can copy it into another tab and get it just fine.

ReplyDeleteI thought you followed it pretty well Jay.

I guess we should update the credits Sam. Can you post a mix with John on bass? I haven't heard it myself. Maybe Jay could do keys against that.
DeleteNo this is Jay Shankman. If you look at the blue banner at the very top of the page, it talks about Jay.
DeleteKeys and/or strings might be cool to accent some parts.

ReplyDeleteNow I remember from the old page that the "Edit" link was at the very top of the page. I don't see how to edit credits on this one.

DeleteIf you are good with a WYSIWYG html editor you could indeed edit Sam. I can show you how if you want.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fred.
