I have a drum repository for drum tracks that can be used to start projects. Often it is a drum track from a totally different project that is put up so people can take then in totally different directions. I also post stems for Mix/Master compare sessions where we post mastered mixes and pick each other's brains. I want to eventually put different repositories up for different instruments for the same purpose. I just ask them to give me credit, and this is beside what I do on my own.
Abused how? Not give you credit? It's on the menu under projects. I suppose this is ALWAYS a criteria in collabs (not abused). If you do post, just put your criteria in with the post. If it's not followed we'll act. YOU can lay out how you want it/them used.
It doesn't happen very often Ian, but I have kicked several people down the road for abusive attitudes and behaviors. It's part of collabs to find non-abusive peeps. I call it "weeding". Lucky for me/us it doesn't happen often. I probably would not be keen on collabing myself if it did. I can usually see these type of people a mile away. Also if you put the tracks on YOUR drive you can control it. Remove them if your rules are not followed. You have every right to insist on how they are used. The uploader puts files on YOUR drive regardless if it's you or someone else sending. The new account you setup could host them. When you are ready.
So at the end of the process, it inserts the upload, and information, into the website. If you remember one of the steps was to "add to starred". Doing that lets you go right to where your uploader files are. In the folder called UPLOADER in your stared view. That contains your form, your sheet, and the folder that gets uploaded to. It's the very inner folder nested inside the folder. The one you shared. That allows us to access the files on the site once it's uploaded. It's quite a nice system. Go into that same folder every time you want to see your uploaded files. You can right click and open both forms and sheets with those apps. Right clcik and open with forms or open with sheets, and you can edit your sheets. You can manually enter links into the sheet and it alters the webpage.
You can make those comments wordwrap, and you can sort it by date putting latest at the top. I've been looking at scripts that will autosort the sheets thus controlling what's seen on the page. You can insert icons and all sorts of things into the sheets. They have addons. Look at the list on the frontpage of the F-Jam Studios site. You see some of the icons I use on there. Enhances the look.

ReplyDeleteHi Fred
ReplyDeleteSo now that you have your checkmark in you'll get email when someone comments on your page here. Lookin' good man!
DeleteMakes for a nice looking site Ian!
ReplyDeleteIndeed Fred thank you
ReplyDeleteNo problem Ian. And when you are ready, we'll put an uploader there that is waiting any time you need it.
DeleteIt's essentially the same type of site I am using for F-Jam Studios.

ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Fred as long as it isn't abused I guess ... it would be a good resourse for sure.

ReplyDeleteThe uploader puts the sender's name on the uploaded file. You noticed my name on that upload on your system?
