Thank you for your time in fixing the loops. It was very kind of you. Honestly, the drum in the player on the page sounds like thudding and I thought it was distracting. I didn't like the cymbal crashes. This was meant to be a love song between a woman and her husband who was stationed in Afghanistan with the AF. Violins would be sweet. I had not ever thought of it as sounding Gospel but if there is a mellow jazz, then that would be fine. I'll see what else I can do. Thank you, Fred. I do appreciate your work.
Ok this is what I was hearing, but after reading Char's comment this may not work. The piano chords are a jazzy progression and I was hearing similar to what Fred was hearing. But there are other things happening at the 2:39 point the time is off? Is that intentional or an oops when fixing the loops? Let me look at putting the chords to a different genre. (Ballad)
Yes I hear it too. That is where I tried to fix one of her glitches. I had to piece it together bigtime. If that chord was matched to decay like that but the right chord. I could fix that pretty easily. That chord is done elsewhere and could be used there. I didn't fix everything it seems. There are 3 or 4 others that I did fix.
That's nice Steve. It is more gentle. I like the sound of the sticks. I don't think there should be any cymbal crashes. Yes, there is something off but you should've seen the disaster I put together. Yes, it is a ballad. I never expected anything else. I was just hoping the loops would sound smoother, especially when two were butted together. Thank you. I'll contact you, Steve.
Steve is working his magic and I am causing mayhem, but we are getting there. It will be very pretty, I think. Who knew? I'm so glad I was invited here. Thank you, Fred.
Ok got the arrangement down, I don't like using loops so I learned the piano part (took two days) sorry Apple iLife 08. Got a talented guitar player to play some acoustic guitar fills. Needs a solo of some sort, we first need to see what the lyrics leave use with. Any ideas Fred (Your sax?)... Enjoy!
Wow! Steve...you did beautifully. The thudding that markerd the loops..well., that's no loner in evidence. I thought it was finished, except for my warbling. I wondered who Andy was. Excellent work, Steve. I am indebted.
I'm happy that it wasn't a thankless task for you. Music by scaustrta. I'll sing to it ..after you think you have a good mix. Then, if you want we can add some break...violins?
This is the arrangement so go ahead and add your vocals. Leave room for a solo, there are violins already but I will work them in later. Once we have your vocals we can work in a solo, something sweet and sexy. Thanks...
I know the old Apple piano melody is iconic, but the song sounds great without it. Just saying 'cause so many people have used that melody over the 16 plus years it's been available. Something to thinks about I guess...

ReplyDeleteThis Heart is a straight, laid-back ballad. I am honing lyrics and singing. Steve is finalizing arrangement. Finally! Thank you, Fred.

Sounds good. Let's see what the vocals have in store.
